The projects and activities of KulturAXE always
focused on crosscultural communication, on encounters, cooperations and mutual inspirations reaching over nations, disciplines, generations. The first large
exhibition was triggered 1989 by the 'Gentle Revolution' in former Czechoslovakia and used the new open frontier to Austria for a mutual presentation of artworks
in both countries - the first independent and joint art event after more than 40 years of a restrictive regime! 1991 the exhibition DIAGONALE took place in the
City Gallery Bratislava, and assembled German, Slovakian and Czech artists of different generations to present abstract artworks. 1991 was also the year of the
first Summer Academy, which took place in Slovakia - a project which in the meantime has developed to a worldwide communication platform for artistic exchange.
1993 a new cycle started with 'LASER-ART, symbiosis art and technology', a workshop within the frame of the Summer Academy that brought together renowned artists
from 5 nations and experts of lasertechnology with excellent equipment to an experimental working situation with open outcome. Project-oriented new media workshops
followed every year, involving amongst other, video, CD ROM, light-projections, internet, silicon graphics - on topics such as simulation models of new forms of
communication, perception phenomena, avatars, superworlds, time & space and the change to an information society and internetworld.

In 1994, with the introduction of 'HUMANISM-TALKS', an even more discursive and reflective character began to form the activities; representatives from
historico-cultural, philosophical fields and social sciences discussed with the audience of the Summer Academy whether 'ART IS LUXURY'. Also here, further seminars
followed as well as the issuance of abstracts and lecture notes, covering different topics such as 'Art and Creativity', Cyberanthropology, Cybershamanism, Myth
Death and Religion and more.
1997 the project SONDE WATER-AXIS EUROPA was conceived, a ship as sonde, an 'emotion barometer', no fixed artistic
manifestation, but a flowing articulation, its content in permanent change, leaving the end open - in the flood / flow; artists as creative intiators, as
transformateurs or interpreters of the systems of scientific disciplines.
